Nicola Wright visited our studios in September. She spoke about getting into curation and working at Studio Voltaire, the processes, and timelines of realising a solo exhibition. At SV, they don’t want there to be any hierarchies in their programming, for example not wanting a education programme to simply be an afterthought or response to an exhibition. Nicola talked about her experiences of doing studio visits as a curator and not wanting the artist to feel like they must prepare anything. But the desire to have open conversations about what was currently being made. It was a great evening with Nicola, she was eager to engage with our practices and offer helpful feedback.
