Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award

Jamie Hosegood, recipient of the first Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award and a graduate of the MA Fine Art course at Central Saint Martins has now taken up the opportunity. The award, initiated by Acme Studios with Central Saint Martins, provides a large studio space at Acme’s Warton House studio building, shared with a 2013 graduate from the MFA Fine Art at Goldsmiths.

Jamie Hosegood was selected for the inaugural Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award by a panel comprising Holly Tebbutt (on behalf Acme Studios), Graham Ellard (CSM), Aaron Scott Lidgett (Helen’s son), Ben Rawlingson Plant (Brunswick Committee) and Anne Tallentire (invited artist). Jamie’s work continues a fascination with the actual substance of paint, the mechanics and activity of painting and how the medium can continue to engage with imagery, particularly photographic imagery, in the 21st century.

The Award for graduates from MA Fine Art, MA Photography and MA Art and Science, is managed by Acme Studios and funded and supported by Acme and the Helen Scott Lidgett Fund. The 2014/15 award will be open again for applications in April 2014 – eligible applicants will be contacted directly.
