Yve Lomax, The Art of Writing

Through a series of readings Yve Lomax discussed the specifics of writing as a form of art making.
It has been a longstanding concern of Yve Lomax to include writing within the repertoire of visual art and place emphasis on writing as a practice not only in relation to writing as art but also the ‘art’ of writing of theory.Alongside giving examples of her work, Yve Lomax also spoke of the peculiar existence of the example.

Yve Lomax is the Research Tutor for Fine Art at the Royal College of Art and Professor in Art Writing at Goldsmiths College. She is author of: “Writing the Image: An Adventure with Art and Theory” (2000); “Sounding the Event: Escapades in Dialogue and Matters of Art, Nature and Time” (2005); “Passionate Being: Language, Singularity and Perservence” (forthcoming, 2009).
