Emily Wardill and students

The Way Things Work (cycle one)

Emily Wardill; the first in a series of studio-based seminars with invited speakers exploring methods of investigation and processes of production in and beyond the studio, addressing issues of collaboration, negotiation, dialogue, economic conditions and contexts. The events were conducted in three parts – the first; an open seminar to provide a context to the invited artists work and prompt specific questions or lines of enquiry. The second, a round table discussion with the invited artist and a selected group of around 12-15 BA, MA or PHD students, each with a prepared issue they wish to pursue in conversation. The third and final session bring the group of students back together to present responses, within their on-going practice, to the discussion with the invited artist.
